About This Blog**START HERE**

So, what happens when a married-with-no-children female finds herself staring down the latter end of her 20s with little to no accomplishments under her belt? She starts making lists of great (but realistic) things she can do within the next three and a half years that are kind of big deals. (She apparently starts talking about herself in third person as well.) Then, because she's had a few beers at this point, this list trickles into the little, tiny things that she has also never done or been able to do and would like to. Because she is a big fan of deadlines, she figures making them all things she wants to achieve by the time she's 30 sounds like a good idea. And the rest, as they say, is history.

The focus of this blog is to document the journey of prepping, planning and training for a 300-mile hike along the Pacific Crest Trail this coming summer (2013). I roped my friend, Kaity, into committing to hike along the John Muir portion of the PCT with me - and no, we did not decide to do this because of the book "Wild." In fact, I've never read it, but probably will. The concept of "roughing" it is definitely new to us, so while we are in appropriate physical shape to do a bout like this, we're in the midst of teaching ourselves new skills, street/woods smarts, and to just become overall mentally tough bad asses in the process. (Oh, you'll have to learn how to pick up on my sarcasm throughout these blog posts if you haven't already, just to warn you.)

Along the way, this blog will also have attributes toward the other items on my list I'm working on checking off. And quite possibly a post that has little to nothing to do with any of the above just because.
